Hello, World!
Hello, World!

Hello, World!

Greetings, Knuckleheads!

Welcome to the dawn of  The Wayne Train, a blog about travel, hiking, history, photography, fishing, writing, video, and other stuff I take an interest in from time to time.

For nearly 50 years, writing a newspaper column gave me an outlet for sharing thoughts, ideas, and musings with friends, family, community, and the world.

Since retiring from the newspaper business in 2022, I’ve missed those things.

The Wayne Train is my new creative outlet.

It’s a platform where I can continue to share my passions, experiences, and discoveries with a wider audience. The name “The Wayne Train” reflects my own journey through life, constantly moving forward, exploring new paths, and embracing the adventure that each day brings.

One of the things I love about travel is the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures and witness the beauty of our diverse world. Whether it’s trekking through the great forests of the Appalachian Mountains, strolling along the serene beaches of Portugal, or exploring the fascinating history of the American Great Plains, each destination offers a unique tapestry of sights, sounds, and flavors waiting to be explored. Through my travel posts, I hope to inspire and guide fellow wanderers to embark on their own remarkable journeys, discovering hidden gems and creating lasting memories.

Thanks for riding along.
